I supposed Pangkor would be one trip that it'll be hard for me to forget especially coz I'm still alive today! Well now that I've got everbody excited, I better start the story somewhere...

Well it all began when some smart aleck decided to choose to venture Pangkor island by bikes rather than using the boring vans. And only 3 of us knew how to ride a motor bike and I was supposedly one of the 3 (btw the smart aleck was also me) and no one knew that my experience on a bike was actually 10mins riding around college grounds! So it was all fine till Dev decided to change my bike, apparently being the least skillful rider, I better have the best brakes! And that's when the problem started, you should make sure your gear is on 2 when you ride a bike as a beginner or you'll accelerate too much and I didn't engage my gear rightly so I ramped forward. In a panic I held on tightly to the accelerator (this is a 70cc we're talking about so the accelerator is at the handles) and my brains (if I had any) told me - you've got 3 choices, first you can ride through the jetty into the sea (10m away), ram into a pondok or go for the bench. The bench was the safest bet so I escaped with a minor bruise and a dented bike and a flying number plate (but thanks to the engineers, the Sikh guy didn't discover any damage to his bike, anyway he overcharged us and that would have more than covered the damage - maybe he knew something like this was bound to happen). Back to the story...so that's how Harun Wahab was chosen to be the next rider and the closest thing he has riden was a bicycle. And the adventure begins...I don't know why we chose to go on with the mission, oh ya we didn't know that Pangkor was really hilly and the ride was going to be one roller coaster!!!

So I was Harun's pillion rider and believe me the guy hadn't ride a bike before coz he couldn't tell from the signal to the horn and worst of all the brake!!! And here we're coming down a steep hill, his hands still on the accelerator and looking for a brake..and I go Rooney you're supposed to take your hands of the accelerator and he goes, oh really? Gee...then the next major assignment was for him to cross this bridge and since he was not stable on the bike, he couldn't keep the bike straight so he made me walk across the bridge and then he didn't have enough power to climb the hill so I actually had to run up this hill. And we kept 4 vans waiting and countless motorbikes, so when they finally over took us, they were screaming at Harun for carrying a passenger when he did not know how to ride a bike properly. I think I must have grown a layer of skin then! The next bit was the funniest: Harun learned to climb up a hill with me so as to avoid the swears from the other users of the roads and we almost did it but he didn't have enough power at the tip of the hill so to make sure we didn't go slidding down I actually had to put my legs down and we did a back to the stone age thingy (just like in Flinstone)...

Somehow we survive Pangkor with Dev and Tes in front navigating and Ashraf and Joji (saying her prayers and screaming at us to keep to the side of the road at the same time) behind us, we were very well escorted! Of course the thought of Harun and me going splat on a van's screen did occur every time he took a corner coz Harun couldn't keep his bike straight and kept going to the other lane! Well lesson learned from Pangkor, Harun learned to ride a bike and quite well as well coz I was merely describing the first part of our adventures and I just love an adventure...
